Cooper's Inspiration

Cooper grew up in Houston, Texas, in a home where stories were part of everyday life. Music wasn’t always playing, but his dad was always telling stories — about where he’d been, what he’d learned, and the people who shaped him. Those stories stuck, and over time they led Cooper to tell his own.
As he got older, certain moments helped shape his sound — hearing Chris Stapleton on the radio and feeling the weight behind his voice, or watching Parker McCollum play harmonica live at The Backyard in Waco and seeing what it looks like to truly command a stage. Artists like Jerry Jeff Walker showed him early on that a song can say something real and lasting.
Cooper believes the gifts in a person’s life aren’t random. He believes God gives each of us more than one, and that we’re meant to use them while we’re here. For him, that calling shows up in both writing and performing — telling the story and standing behind it.
Whether he’s singing or putting words on a page, he’s simply trying to be honest, work hard, and be faithful with what he’s been given.
